Learn how Home Resilience Hub uses essential preference cookies and local browser storage, and how you can manage optional analytics and advertising choices.

This Cookie Policy explains which cookies and similar browser technologies Home Resilience Hub uses. Basic Google page measurement without analytics cookies is on by default. You can enable, decline, or later change analytics cookies and site interaction measurement through Cookie preferences in the footer. Advertising choices are handled separately by Google’s Privacy & messaging controls.

Home Resilience Hub is operated by Pixelix Digital LLP. Home Resilience Hub is the consumer-facing publication; Pixelix Digital LLP is its legal operator.

Essential cookies

The site uses two first-party cookies to remember your choice:

  • cookie-consent records whether you enabled, declined, or customized optional analytics.
  • cookie-preferences records the optional analytics choice.

These preference cookies last for up to one year unless you clear them or choose again. Our hosting and security providers may also use strictly necessary request or security data to deliver and protect the site.

The calculators do not require cookies. The values you enter are processed in your browser. A share link may include selected planning values in its URL because you chose to create that link.

The My Household Plan, worksheet drafts, persistent checklists, and some interface preferences can use your browser’s local storage. This lets entries, progress, and saved calculator summaries remain on the same browser without an account. Local storage does not automatically expire after one year, is not synchronized to another device, and can be removed with the relevant clear control or by deleting browser site data.

This storage supports functionality you request and is separate from the site’s optional analytics and Google advertising choices. Do not treat it as a secure backup or store confidential information in it.

Optional analytics

Google Analytics and Tag Manager load on the production site with analytics storage denied until you allow analytics cookies. In that denied mode, Google may receive cookieless page and consent pings. Requests can still include page, browser, device, timestamp, and network information; cookieless does not mean no data reaches Google. We strip query strings and fragments from analytics page and referrer URLs. Household inputs, calculator results, free text, and saved-plan contents are not sent.

If you allow analytics, Google may use analytics cookies and we can record approved site interactions, such as completing a calculator or following a resource link. Declining analytics keeps storage denied and disables our site interaction events; basic cookieless Google measurement continues.

Before an analytics choice, the site sets Google’s analytics-storage consent signal to denied before loading Google measurement scripts. You can block the site’s Google Analytics measurement path using the browser opt-out on our Privacy Policy. The site does not set or override Google AdSense advertising-consent signals; Google Privacy & messaging owns those regional choices.

Cloudflare Web Analytics

Cloudflare Web Analytics provides a separate aggregate performance baseline for the site. Cloudflare documents that its Vitals Explorer surface does not use cookies or local storage and does not fingerprint visitors. The Cloudflare edge beacon may load before an optional Google choice; it is not the Google Analytics or Tag Manager path, and it does not receive calculator inputs, share state, or household-plan contents. Newsletter sign-up

Newsletter forms are provided by Kit. The Kit script does not load on a normal page view. It loads only after you select Open newsletter sign-up. If you then submit the form, Kit receives the information you provide under its own privacy terms.

Contact form

The contact form is delivered through Formspree only when you submit it. Formspree receives the name, email address, inquiry type, and message you choose to send. The form does not require optional analytics consent.

Advertising

Home Resilience Hub uses Google AdSense for display advertisements that may appear on public pages, including after calculator results. Google and its advertising technology partners may use cookies or similar technologies to serve, measure, limit the frequency of, and—where permitted by law and your choices—personalize advertising based on visits to this site or other sites. The AdSense and Google Privacy & messaging tag may load on public pages to show the applicable regional message and honor advertising choices. The site does not place manual ad units in worksheets, My Household Plan, the newsletter, policy pages, or Privacy settings; Privacy settings may load the tag for privacy controls but has no manual ad placement.

Google Privacy & messaging presents regional advertising choices where required. In the EEA, United Kingdom, and Switzerland, Google’s message provides consent, decline, and management choices; Privacy settings can reopen it when Google exposes that option. In applicable US contexts, use Google’s Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information control when it is shown; Privacy settings does not open a US confirmation dialog directly. The site’s Cookie preferences control optional analytics only and do not replace Google’s advertising controls. You can also use Google’s My Ad Center or, where available, the Digital Advertising Alliance’s opt-out tool to manage personalized advertising.

Managing your choice

Use Cookie preferences in the footer to change the site’s optional analytics choice. Privacy settings can reopen Google’s regional message when Google exposes that option; in applicable US contexts, use Google’s own Do Not Sell or Share control when shown. You can also delete site data through your browser settings. Declining optional analytics does not block articles, navigation, search, or calculators; the separate Cloudflare performance beacon is not controlled by this preference.

Browser controls can also block or delete cookies. The exact steps depend on your browser and device.

Some product links are Amazon affiliate links. If you choose one, Amazon receives the request to its site, including the affiliate tracking information in the link, and may use cookies or similar technologies under Amazon’s Privacy Notice. Those technologies and purchase attribution are managed by Amazon. Our site’s analytics preference does not control cookies on Amazon’s website.

Home Resilience Hub does not load an Amazon affiliate pixel or set an Amazon attribution cookie when you simply view our pages. If you allow optional analytics, we may record a link click using fixed identifiers for the product, merchant, page, and placement. We do not include the affiliate destination URL, household inputs, calculator results, or saved-plan contents in that event. Declining analytics does not prevent you from following a product link.
